In today’s digital age, where every form of creation finds its products stored as digital files, it is time we take a deeper look into the data making up these storage files. As the data in these files change, so do the files and the creations they hold. Art is found everywhere around us, if we just look. The ingenious mind sees opportunities tocreate beauty all around and in the unlikeliest of places. The files that store our creations are no different. This is an experiment to create art in the mundane realms of inert digital data.
‘#Glitch Objects’ is an experimental film by director Kostiantyn Mishchenko. Here, Kostiantyn experiments with the data that makes up his files, to create an art form that seeks for beauty in corruption. Combining his visual creations with a techno music track, Kostiantyn creates a medley of sights and sounds that is novel andinventive. Getting down into the very building blocks of the technology that dominates everything we do today, the film explores how these blocks can be manipulated to create artworks that speak to a select few, even as it remains a glitch for the others.
‘#Glitch Objects’ inspires to look for art in the unlikeliest of places. It is an inspiration for creators seeking newer avenues to express themselves. If beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, it is prudent to train our eyes to live in a better, beautiful world.
